Problem
Our automotive customer was finding basecoat and clearcoat drips on the bottom of the gas lid, causing longer production times because of the downtime required to fix the problem.
Action
The CPI Solution Squad explored and tested multiple options, determining that the optimal resolution was to weld a round bar underneath the gas lid.
Result
The paint was attracted away from the bottom of the gas lid and the problem was resolved, eliminating automotive paint defects, and returning production times to standard speed.
